ShadowDragon
Paid social OSINT suite: SocialNet inside the Horizon platform.
Published by ShadowDragon.
In short
ShadowDragon is a paid OSINT company. SocialNet searches a username, email, phone, or name across public social and online sources and maps aliases and relationships. That engine sits inside Horizon, the company’s investigation platform, which also sells monitoring and alerting. It is sold to investigative teams. shadowdragon.io does not publish a price. A profile it returns is still a lead you open and cite.
Product pricing strategy
02
Premium
ShadowDragon is a premium product. Budget for a subscription or a quote. If the vendor does not publish a simple price, the number is sales-led. This listing does not invent one.
No. ShadowDragon SocialNet is a paid product for teams. There is not a community edition comparable to Sherlock.
Utility and features
03
SocialNet is the product investigators mean when they say ShadowDragon. You start with a selector you already have — a username, an email, a phone number, a name — and the workspace returns public profiles, aliases, and relationships from many sites in one place. ShadowDragon’s own SocialNet page describes it as a social-media investigation tool. A partner writeup on the company’s site says the integration exposes more than 200 online sources. A UK government Digital Marketplace listing for SocialNet and Horizon, sold through the Long Arm platform, described coverage of about 220 sources. Those are vendor and procurement descriptions, not a count this directory re-measured.
- SocialNet. The social and identity search. A selector in, public profiles and relationships out. ShadowDragon describes it both as a product and as a capability inside Horizon.
- Horizon. The investigation platform around that search: identity work, link analysis, and monitoring. Confirm which modules a quote actually includes.
- Monitoring. Horizon Monitor keeps a search running and alerts when something new matches. Older material calls the same job OIMonitor. It is not a one-time username check.
- Price. Sales-led. The company site does not list a number. A UK procurement listing has published a wide per-user band. Ask for the quote that matches your seat count.
Horizon is the wider platform. ShadowDragon describes SocialNet as a core capability inside Horizon, and also as something that can be integrated on its own. The same family includes monitoring: Horizon Monitor, which the company describes as alerts on persistent searches by keyword, location, or person. Older writeups still say OIMonitor for that job. Ask which name is on the quote. The point of the module is the same: a search that keeps running after you close the tab.
There is no price on shadowdragon.io. Buyers are sent to a conversation with the company. The Digital Marketplace listing cited above published a band of £5,500 to £69,500 a user a year, and an evaluation of two to four weeks after a demo. That is a public procurement record, not a current price card, and a quote you receive can sit somewhere else. Do not budget from this paragraph.
Sherlock, Maigret, Blackbird, and UserSearch.org answer “does this handle exist” for nothing. OSINT Industries and UserSearch.com answer a paid version of the same question with credits. ShadowDragon is the purchase when a team wants those connectors maintained, graphed, and watched. Maltego remains the tool when the deliverable is a graph you draw yourself. A SocialNet row is not an identity. Open the profile, cite the page, and do not merge two people because a workspace grouped them.
- 1
Write down the selector and the question before you ask for a demo. A username tool may already answer it.
- 2
Ask which sources the quote includes. The value is the coverage you will actually use.
- 3
On a pilot, re-open the underlying profiles and compare them with a free checker on the same handle.
- 4
Cite the source page in the case file, not only the ShadowDragon row.
Caveats
04
ShadowDragon is a paid social and open-source-intelligence workspace. Pricing is a quote. There is no honest free equivalent of the whole platform, but Sherlock and Maigret cover the narrow username question without it.
What you can search, export, and retain is the contract and the vendor’s sources. A result can be a public profile, a historical one, or a false match. The UI does not make it an identification. Confirm on the vendor’s site what the current product actually includes before you write a requirement around a feature name.

Potential use cases
06
- You have several selectors for one authorized investigation and a ShadowDragon login. Search inside the product. The output is whatever that workspace returns for those selectors, under the contract. Pivot a username that needs a second method to Sherlock or Maigret, which you can run and explain locally. A paid social-OSINT workspace is not more true than a profile you opened.
- The procurement question is what this adds beyond local username scripts. Run one handle you are allowed to use in ShadowDragon and in Maigret. Write down which profiles only the paid product found, and whether you could open them. That delta, plus the quote, is the decision. This listing does not invent the price.
- A team wants one login instead of a pile of scripts. That is a workflow and a support decision. The output is still leads. Keep the same rule you would keep with Sherlock: open the profile, watch for reused names, and do not merge identities from a hit count.
Hard cases
The case where the first result is easy to over-read.
The workspace returns a profile the local tools missed
Treat the extra profile as unverified, not as the reason the renewal is justified. Open it. If it is the right person, cite the profile URL and note that ShadowDragon surfaced it. If it is a namesake, the delta was noise. Do not put the vendor’s confidence indicator into a report without the URL you checked.
