Social Analyzer
API, CLI, and a local web app for username searches.
Published by qeeqbox.
In short
Social Analyzer is a free, open-source project from qeeqbox for finding a username across social sites. It ships an API, a command-line tool, and a local web app, so you can run one search or call the same check from a workflow you control. Treat every hit as a page to open. A matching handle is a lead, not an identity.

Free
Social Analyzer is free. You do not buy a seat to use what the project publishes.
Yes. The API, CLI, and web app in the qeeqbox repository are free and open source. You run them yourself.
Utility and features
03
Social Analyzer is the username tool you pick when the interface matters. The command line covers a single search. The local web app is easier to hand to a colleague. The API is there if a case system should call the same check without a person retyping the name. All three are part of the upstream project, and all three still need a human to open the URLs.
- Three ways to run it. CLI for a quick check, a local web app for review, and an API if you are wiring it into a workflow you operate.
- What you still verify. The tool reports candidate profiles. You decide whether the page is the right person, a namesake, or a broken detection.
- Keep it current. Sites change URLs and block automated checks. Update before a case, and record which revision you ran.
The site list is large and it changes. A hit can be a real profile, a parked page, or a site that returns 200 for every string. Read the page. Sherlock and Blackbird are the shorter existence checks. Maigret aims at a longer dossier. Social Analyzer is the one with a local UI and an API in the same repository. Run a current checkout, keep the output with the date, and do not point it at people you are not allowed to look up.
- 1
Clone the current repository and start the interface you actually need — CLI, local web app, or API.
- 2
Search one username that is in scope. Do not paste a list of private individuals.
- 3
Open the detected profiles and write down which ones you can actually attribute.
- 4
Store the raw output with the date and the commit you used.
Caveats
04
Social Analyzer is a free project for finding a username across sites, with a local web view and a way to call it from other code. Site checks break, and the project’s detection is not an identity.
A generated page looks shareable. Share the URLs you verified, not the raw score. The same false-positive problems as Sherlock apply. There is no hosted official service to blame if a site rate-limits you.

Potential use cases
06
- A teammate will not read a terminal transcript. Run Social Analyzer so they get a local page of username findings. The output is that report. They still have to open the URLs. Pivot the handle to Sherlock or Blackbird for a second method. A local web UI is a convenience, not a confirmation.
- You want the check inside a workflow you control. Social Analyzer can be called as a program rather than a one-off command. The output should be stored with the date and the site list you used. A detection is a candidate profile. Compare it with Sherlock on the same handle and do not merge identities from the report alone.
- Reviewing your own usernames is the small version of the same job: your handles in, a list of sites out, then you decide what to close. The pitfall is treating the tool’s ‘found’ flag as an account you forgot when the page is an error. Open it.
Hard cases
The case where the first result is easy to over-read.
The local report is one click from a wrong person
The page lists a profile with the right letters and the wrong face, city, or language. The UI’s layout makes it look selected. It is not. Write down why you rejected it. If you keep the report, annotate the rejects so the next reader does not ‘finish’ the identification you already discarded.
Questions
Is Social Analyzer free?
Yes. The API, CLI, and web app in the qeeqbox repository are free and open source. You run them yourself.
Is the web app a hosted service?
The upstream project is self-hosted. The web interface runs locally or wherever you deploy it. It is not a vendor login with a free tier and a paid tier.
