Hunchly
Captures web pages, timestamps, and hashes while you research.
Published by Hunchly.
In short
Hunchly is a paid browser tool that captures pages while you research. It records the URL, timestamps, and hashes, and it stores full-page captures. The pricing page lists a free trial with no credit card, then Classic at €149 or $169 a year for storage on your own computer. Cloud storage is quoted by sales. A capture is a record of a page you opened. It is not a warrant.
Product pricing strategy
02
Premium
Hunchly is a paid product with a free trial. The pricing page says the trial does not require a credit card. Classic, which stores the case on your computer, is listed at €149 a year or $169 a year. Cloud storage and extra licenses are sold through sales. This listing does not invent the cloud price. The pricing page is the card for Classic.
Utility and features
03
Hunchly’s homepage describes three steps. Capture: the tool collects the URL, timestamps, and hashes of pages you visit, and it makes full-page captures of sites, searches, and social media. Organize: you tag and search what you captured. Report: you package findings, and the site says an audit trail shows the steps.
- Automatic capture. URL, timestamps, hashes, and full-page captures of what you browse. That is the homepage’s description.
- Classic versus cloud. Classic is the priced local plan. Cloud is a sales conversation. Do not assume they cost the same.
- Reporting. The site says you can package findings and show an audit trail of steps. The trail is of your session.
The pricing page is specific. There is a free trial, and it says no credit card is required. Classic is €149 a year or $169 a year and keeps files on your computer, including offline. Cloud storage and multi-license discounts are “contact sales.” This listing quotes the Classic numbers because they are printed on that page, and it does not invent a cloud price. Wayback Machine is what you use when you need someone else’s historical copy. Hunchly is what you use to keep the pages you opened yourself.
- 1
Use the free trial on a case you are allowed to work, and see what it captures.
- 2
If you need local storage, read the Classic price on the pricing page before you buy.
- 3
Tag captures as you go. A folder of untitled pages is not a report.
- 4
Export the package your process requires, and keep the hashes with it.
Caveats
04
Hunchly records pages you visit with it running. It does not reach pages you never opened, and it does not bypass a login you do not have.
A hash and a timestamp show what the tool saved. They do not make the underlying page lawful to collect. Keep the capture policy your organization already has.

Potential use cases
06
- You are about to review pages in an investigation and you need a dated copy. Turn Hunchly on, browse only what you are allowed to open, and let it record the URL, time, and hash. The output is that case folder. It does not reach pages you never opened and it does not bypass a login you do not have. A hash shows what the tool saved. It does not make the collection lawful. Keep the policy you already have.
- A colleague asks which URL you opened and when. Export the page record rather than digging through browser history. The output is the URL, the timestamps, and the capture. If the capture missed a paywalled iframe, say so. Hunchly records what the browser loaded while it was running. It is not a retroactive archive of last week.
- Loose screenshots have no hash and no timestamp. Recapture the page, if you are still allowed to open it, with the tool running, and retire the loose image as a pointer rather than an exhibit. Wayback is the pivot when the page has since changed and you need an older public copy. Hunchly will not invent yesterday’s capture.
Hard cases
The case where the first result is easy to over-read.
The capture includes a session you did not mean to save
You were logged into a personal or a client account and the tool saved the authenticated page. That file is more sensitive than the public URL. Store it under the case rules, do not drop it in a chat, and do not assume the hash makes it shareable. Next time, decide the account before you turn capture on. The tool did what it was switched on to do.
Questions
Is Hunchly free?
There is a free trial. Classic is €149 or $169 a year on the pricing page. Cloud storage is a sales quote.
Does Hunchly archive the whole web?
No. It captures pages you visit while it is running. The Wayback Machine is the historical archive of other people’s crawls.
